Dusting off some old renders and exploring long forgotten backups and I discovered some early dark renders of the scarab design I did and just had to give them a nice spacey treatment. I hope you like!

A poem I wrote a while back and just dusted off. I think its not half bad. I hope you like it too.

Until a red-faced man walked in
And laughed at my green skin
And spat right in my face
And called me a disgrace
So I beat him to a pulp and before I left him there for dead
I pulled him close and with his dying words he said…
“In your next life- be me.
And see if you do it differently.”
So I stepped in and pulled on his red skin
And looked out through his eyes
and did it same as him
Thinkin’ I’d done it different.
Until a blue-faced girl walked in
And laughed at my red skin
And spat right in my face
And called me a disgrace
So I beat her to a pulp and before I left her there for dead
I pulled her close and with her dying words she said…
“In your next life- be me.
And see if you do it differently.”
So I stepped in and pulled on her blue skin
And looked out through her eyes
and did the same again
Thinkin’ I’d done it different.
Until a green-faced man walked in
And laughed at my blue skin
And spat right in my face
And called me a disgrace
So I beat him to a pulp and before I left him there for dead
I pulled him close and with his dying words he said…
“In your next life- be me.
And see if you do it differently.”
So I stepped in and pulled on his green skin
And looked out through his eyes
and did it same as him
Thinkin’ I’d done it different.
Recently I finally got all my music stuff set up again so I can work on music and sound for my new animated series, Surreal Orange, and I needed to test everything out so I wrote an easy one part song and ended up really liking it so I made it into a Portfolio video. Plus its been a while since I updated my portfolio and recently captured some awesome footage of my creations in Second Life so I cut everything together in a nice video for everyone. Oh- and I added a little introduction teaser for Surreal Orange at the end. All of the video is 100% me. Art, music and all.

Joe and Sandy from Boheme Opera NJ first contacted me in 2012 to create animated backdrops for The Magic Flute. It was a fascinating challenge. Its by Mozart and happens in ancient Egypt so you get all those cool Egyptian bits I love so much! So I dove in. Also there’s a nice family connection. My dad’s parents actually met while they were pro opera singers and I’ve been aware of opera from an early age.
So it worked wonderfully and we keep doing it! Every year since I’ve done animated backdrops for their main yearly production. We’ve done Carmen, La Boheme, Faust and Aida (More Egyptian YAY!!!) just to name a few. We keep trying to vary the style and do something new with it every time. Here’s a few examples of the loops and a bunch of pics.
The Magic Flute was way back in 2012 and I was in the midst of trying to adapt to Blender from 3D Studio MAX and was also fairly new to video editing so I was still learning. I’m very proud of the result but check out the Aida backdrops too- they’re WAY better.
